Projections

Fantasy Analyst offers a variety different projections for DFS, including features that easily allow you to use your own or other sources:

  • Neural Network Projections – Trained neural networks are available to generate projections based on a number of inputs such as Vegas lines and different player statistics. These inputs are automatically calculated, but may be modified as desired. Detailed information on each neural network is provided including the time frame of the training data, the time frame used for back-testing, and the accuracy of the projections over the back-testing period.
  • Third Party Projections – We provide FantasyData projections for NFL, NBA, and MLB. These projections can be used directly, or simply as a reference in adjusting your own projections.
  • Projection CSV Import - If you have your own preferred source for projections, you can import them as a CSV file with player names in the first column and projection values in the second. Fantasy Analyst conveniently matches player names so that the spellings in the CSV file do not have to match exactly with those in Fantasy Analyst.

Lineups

Fantasy Analyst includes a variety of tools and features to help you generate the best lineups and manage them in your DFS contests:

  • Variance Optimizer – Generate lineups that maximize or minimize variance, with a minimum projected score. Fantasy Analyst can be used to estimate variance and covariance by meauring measured between players over past games. This form of optimization can be more profitable for contests such as 50/50s and large tournaments.
  • Score Optimizer - Generate lineups that maximize total projected points. This is the conventional optimization format typically used in most optimizers.
  • Optimizer Constraints - A variety of standard constraints such as stacking, maximum player ownership, and minimum lineup salary can be enforced when generating lineups for both optimizers.
  • Contest Management - Import FanDuel and DraftKings contest entries into Fantast Analyst to easily swap in your new lineups and upload them into your contests.

Statistics

Fantasy Analyst provides some of the best statistical tools for DFS to analyze players, evaluate lineups, and track your past performance:

  • Projection Accuracy Analysis – Measure the historical accuracy of different projections. Whether you use Fantasy Analyst’s neural networks, the provided 3rd party projections, or your own projections, multiple projection sets can be saved and compared to determine which are most accurate.
  • Custom Statistics – Define your own custom stats using SQL commands to make full use of the seasons worth of player data that you can download to your computer.
  • Variance and Covariance Analysis - Measure the historical variance, covariance, and correlations between different players or position pairings for specific sites/sports.
  • Contest History - Import your contest entry history for different sports and DFS websites into Fantasy Analyst to determine which contest formats you are most profitable at and how to manage your bankroll.

Optimizers

Most DFS lineup optimizers available only attempt to maximize the average points that a lineup will score. Fantasy Analyst includes this as well as two other optimizers using genetic algorithms that can be employed to construct superior lineups.

Variance optimization

Generate the lowest variance lineup given a minimum desired average score. Variance and covariance are measured between players over past games. This form of optimization is useful for contests such as 50/50s and double-ups, where scoring above the average consistently is more important than achieving the highest score.

Contest optimization

Generate lineups that are most profitable in a simulated contest. Using a set of manually or automatically generated opponent lineups, measured variance/covariance of players, and a specified contest structure, Fantasy Analyst can simulate thousands of games to determine what lineups are most profitable in the contest.

History Analysis

Fantasy Analyst provides some of the best statistical tools for DFS players to analyze their past performance and improve their game.

Projection Analysis

Measure the historical accuracy of different projections. Whether you use Fantasy Analyst’s neural networks, the provided 3rd party projections, or your own projections, multiple projection sets can be saved and compared to determine which are most accurate.

Lineup Analysis

Fantasy Analyst allows users to easily import lineups from completed contests. Perform direct comparisons between fantasy points scored vs. projected, and “retry” optimizing lineups from your original projections to determine what you’re mistakes were.

Contest History

Easily view your contest history for different sports and DFS websites in a single location. Determine which contest formats you are most profitable at and how to manage your bankroll.
